Morning meditation?

I really dislike the morning. No, I take that back, it's not that I don't like mornings, it's just that I don't want to be forced into productivity at inhumane hours, like before the sun comes up. I'd prefer not to be awake if the earth hasn't rotated around towards the sun, but if I have to be up, at least I could be enjoying a cup of coffee. Remember how I told you that we are in a failing education system? Well the start time of school is a perfect example of just how failing we are. How many studies of teenage brains do you think it's going to take before we give up on this traditional calendar and time schedule? Did you realize that most teachers are at work before dawn? Here I am actually giving instruction starting at 7:30 am. Seven-thirty in the morning! I am old and I can barely form a complete sentence at that ungodly hour.

So I've had this hate hate relationship with the mornings. Actually that's not totally true. When I lived in Denver I would run in the dark, before work, and that was ok. The problem is being at work and actually having a job where I can't just pretend to work. I've never really had an office job, but I've seen TV and know that office workers stroll in and get coffee, gossip around the water cooler, before finally turning on their computer so they can check facebook. Life is just like TV, right?

Ok, so my point is this... you know how I've started this meditation challenge? Well, the thought occurred to me that maybe, possibly, instead of listening to the guided meditation sessions before bed, that maybe, just maybe I could get up 30 minutes earlier and listen in the morning. I'm putting this out there because if I write this down, maybe, just maybe I'll give it a try.

Haha! I have had to deliver 6am presentations and yes- much harder than flipping on my computer and scanning through the 30 or so emails I got since 5 o'clock the day before.
