Teacher

The English teacher at our school did a project where the students had to write short vignettes about their life... She posted this message on FB...

We always hear about all the things we do "wrong" as teachers, but rarely about the things we do right...so in honor of the many things we do right, and in this case in honor specifically of Lisa Yemma.... here is a shout out written by a tenth grader ...a little piece of a project he was working on in English.

My Teacher is Ms. Yemma. She is the biology teacher at CMS. She has a bunch of tattoos that dance around her body. Her classes are like a circus and she is the ring leader. She is never afraid to say what is needed to make us learn. She is a good teacher. But her tests are a slap to the face. I look forward to seeing her every day and biology has become one of my favorite classes. Her face lights up as she describes cells and mitosis. At the start of every class, we talk about life and its ups and downs. Repetition of facts is her favorite way of teaching. She makes sure the facts are drilled into our brain.
