Plans

Over and over people keep asking me... "How can you still go?" My reply, "How can I not go." After hours of video, slews of pictures and article after article I feel a connection to the place I'm about to call home. The faces. It may be more of a struggle to get a visa, but the plan still remains. I leave July 29. I may be a little naive but I can't imagine a life without risks and pushing myself to my personal limits.

As long as they still want you to come than I'd go too. I was surprised to hear that Burma spends the least amount of money on health care than any other country in the world.. just be careful, which I know you will be.

I agree, how can you NOT go, they need great educators more than ever.

Have you met or do you know Arlene Blum? She's an activist/writer/tour guide to Nepal out of Oakland. I took a class with her once on working in India. She sent me the World Vision link to send assistance...thought maybe your paths cross.

Something to keep in mind later, if you want to come and speak at a Women's group at my company (Sun Microsystems) we would love to hear your story when you're ready.

lots of love,
